My preffered Steward for goldenhill is Roggi Knot-Beard. He doesn't have a combat class and his level cap is amongst the lowest available. Also, if you have them follow you to a different house, you can make them steward of that house too (which is stupid). Unless there is a big delay, they seem to stay at the first house you hire them at. If anyone else's experience is different, please correct me. You can fire your steward.
