I did not chrono either of them as there is plenty of info out there on where these bows come in speed wise. The consensus is that the Mathews is 3-5 fps faster than the Hoyt. Lift 33. Shot the VTM and was good, but not as smooth and quiet as the Mathews. To be fair the pull weight was 70 on the vtm and longer draw vs phase 4 at 65 lbs, but still. The draw cycle of the phase 4 was awesome, smooth and pulled easy for the weight. Went there to look at vx33 on sale but jst rolled with the phase 4, never shot the vx33, lol.The Mathews was shooting at 307 fps vs 296 from the Hoyt (!). I was so impressed by the draw cycle vs. speed from the Mathews. The VTM 34, SS34, and Phase4 33. The Mathews and Bowtech were the top contenders for me. I walked out with a Phase 4. Never thought I would see the day I bought a Mathews over a Bowtech or Hoyt, but here we are. All three are top notch. I would guess it was 25-30% quieter, which is massive. Back Wall. The Mathews has an amazing back wall. There is hardly any creep and it’s very solid. The Hoyt has a very spongy back wall.
