Gmc acadia thermostat recall.
It was a $75 option if you factory ordered it. My local GMC dealer looked up the parts to order. Gm wanted $30 for the block heater and $130 for the cord and $80 for the labor to install. The cord has a thermostat in it that prevents the block heater from turning on until it's below 0 degrees F.
