Good reviews and good heritage (I own several Ruger pistols). I got 3 FTE's in the first 200 rounds and chalked it up to break-in. (Although I have only had an issue with break-in one other time and it was not Ruger).

However, loaded it weighs close to 27 ounces, which is quite a bit heavier and some may feel it. But, the weight of the frame, slide, and barrel do contribute to the low recoil and stability so that just about makes up for it. I have, however, run four magazines through and every round hangs up. First, all firearms need cleaned before you do anything with them! Then, if you have an issue, such as feeding ammo, I'd immediately stop and determine the cause of the problem. Yes, pistol has been field stripped to clean and cleaned and oiled with CLP and the last time I used Hoppes bore solvent and gun oil. Cleaned according the owner's manual and have watched several videos on cleaning the Security 9 to see if I have missed something. Last round hold back would not work on 1 of the mags, not that big of a deal. 2. When I first inspected it, I found it was really hard to get the slide stop to set, but was told it would loosen up with firing, and slingshot worked fine. Took it home, disassembled, cleaned, and lubed it. Took it to my range and put 36 rounds of FMJ through the two mags that came with it. The pistol had 4 major problems.
