Yes, another LS swap. 98 GS300 I picked up for $700 with a blown motor and slipping transmission. Had a 5.3 with turbo and wiring harness on the shelf already, so it was an easy decision to swap it on. Setup is Stock 5.3 with cam. springs and 80lb injectors. 4l80e with HD2 shift kit and 3200 stall converter.Parts and steps needed. (not including auto to manual swap parts) 1. '06 Pontiac Solstice AR-5 Transmission. 2. Bellhouseing for 1jz to R154. 3. Shifter housing for jzx100. 4. Shifter - Short throw stock shifter (w55) could use a stock jzx100 shifter. I personally used a Ralco RZ short shifter for the IS300.I think the 1UZ is a great choice too but it's only a bit easier than the LS swap. The LS has more power potential. It's smaller than the 1UZ too. The 1UZ just barely fits the IS300's engine bay. The exhaust manifolds are scarily close to the steering rack. I had to use SC430 exhaust manifolds so it would clear.For cruise RPM, it will be top gear at 70 mph. There are two stock rear differential ratios for the IS300 – 3.91 came in auto cars and 3.73 came in manual cars. Tacoma 3.55 gear sets can be installed in the OEM diff carrier. These three gear ratios are what I will use for my tables.
