The display has a dim light when you start the truck, but the display and the preset buttons, as well as the CD control buttons do not work. The climate control works and you can still control the radio through the steering wheel ...Mine will cut off sound. Usually the first 10 min of driving. Does not matter the location. I also have a 22 Silverado. With just over 2k miles. Has done it since 50 miles. Does not mater am, fm or xm radio. The radio does not change display. Just the sound goes out for 2-3 seconds. As many as 3-4 times.

After several reprogramming attempts and software upgrades, wiring harness cleanings, ground wire checks, 2 new radios and one new touch screen, it wasn't actually either, It was called a Low voltage cable.Easy to test if you pull the door panels. Unplug speakers, then at amp, test for continuity between each pair of wires. If its shorted, check that pair of wires to see where its shorting out. If no short, check speakers for the same thing, should be 2-4 ohms, if it reads dead short, voice coil is shot and new speaker is needed.The following instructions will allow you to reset any GM (General Motors), Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Buick, Pontiac theft lock radio. Requirements. The theft lock radio must be in "LOC" mode. Procedure: 1. Turn the ignition ON (The radio should display "LOC") 2. Hold down the Radio Presets 2 and 3 buttons for six seconds.#1. Most every radio I know of uses 4 ohm speakers so that could cause a low volume issue if you are using a radio expecting 2 ohm speakers but your speakers are 4 ohm.
