I tried a Range disabler on our 2016 Silverado 5.3L V8 and I ended up removing it. While it did prevent going into V4 mode I noticed that the engine burned oil when the Range disabler was installed. A tune, such as HP or DiabLew, offer improvments in drivability as well that a Range cannot do. A true delete is actually tearing down the engine and removing the internal AFM parts (camshaft, VLOM, etc.) and replacing all those parts with non-AFM components.
