AS for LIM gaskets though, they do fail on the Series 2 3800's, but don't confuse the problems with the Series 1 3800's. Those will go 200k on original LIM gaskets without a problem. 2006 GP base No more wet frame rail. No drips. No leaks around the repair areas as well as coolant temp sensor or T-stat. In a nut shell most GM V-engines have LIM gasket issues. GM just went a little cheap on the gasket design.
