19644020 Discussion starter. 18 posts · Joined 2013. #3 · May 9, 2014. all of the other hydraulics function with out any problems. the tractor has one set of remotes that go to a tee that supplies the FEL and the implements. the only thing i've noticed about the FEL is when it is going up it kinda shakes like the pressure is pulsing rapidly ...#1. My new 4020 has some hydraulic issues. The steering and brakes work good, but the remotes are very slow and will barely lift anything. First I checked the priority valve to see if it was stuck, but it was moving fine. Then we pulled the stroke control valve, which was stuck. We freed it up and thought that we had found the problem.If it still fails to work, contact a mechanic. 3. Oil. Aug 1, 2012 · Total for the rebuild was $700 but was still cheaper than buying a reman brake valve, at least according to the local JD dealer anyway. Good News....the original brake valve was rebuildable. It solved the entire problem and it stops great. No more wheel lock up. The JD 4020 is now ready to go back to work. May 30, 2009. #1. I have a 4020 that is not getting any fuel to the injectors. I have bled the system and transfer pump is pumping good up to the injector pump. But when I crack the injectors nothing. There is a 5/16 bolt on the outward side of the injector pump. If I loosen this bolt, it will run normally but shoots fuel out the hole.

That is a lot, and if it's not happening it can make a big difference in performance. 4020 is supposed to advance 2 engine degrees by 1000 engine RPM. Check the six weep holes on the left side of the block, make sure there's no sign of coolant discoloring the paint below the holes. The 4020 was a wet sleeve engine, they didn't tend to cavitate like IH engines but o-ring sealing problems were fairly common.The super 4020 title was a very accurate on for them. 18.4x38 tires are probably the most common size for them. The power difference between them and a 4020 is very noticeable. Without a turbo a 4020 will usually smoke very heavy once you push it to around 110 hp. The later early models and on only have 2 reverse gears that are sped up. The the early ones, 1st reverse is the same speed as 3rd forward, 2nd reverse is like 5th and 3rd reverse is like 7th. If it is a non side console chances are it is a bad thermal relief valve located in the end plate of the rockshaft control valve housing. I just replaced mine ($15 from Deere) on my 2510 and it made a huge difference. It still floats down over night but before it would beat me in a race to see who could contact the ground first.Member.
