You can have a wall there but only after you made the stairs. You can only make 45° logs if there is a pillar only on one side. So in your case you'd have to remove the 5 "wall"-logs and the pillar closest to you, then place a 45° log and make the stairs. You can afterwards add the 5 "wall"-logs back to where they were. Build the stairs first, add walls later. If you have log beams on the second floor above where the angled beams go they wont go in. We used a rope bridge indoors as stairs since you can't build a ramp next to a wall.
