567 posts · Joined 2007. #29 · Jan 3, 2018. Just finished reaming my Bearcat to .22 mag. It took about 15 minutes per chamber with a fresh reamer and STP for lube. I used a 20 volt drill at maybe 30 RPM, cut maybe 3/16", pulled the reamer, hit it with compressed air and added another dab of STP.

The Bearcat is VERY small. I now kind of think of it as a kid or kit gun. My gunsmith said the bore difference in the Single Six is so slight that it should'nt matter. I had settled on a new stainles one. I, like you, think the mag cylinder is really a novelty. The Single Six, by virtue of it's adjustable sights and varying barrel lengths, is inherently more accurate. The Bearcat is a much better looking handgun. The Single Six always seemed oversized to me....like it should be a .32 or a .38.
